Tucson, AZ – July 8, 2011 – Two CN-235-110 Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) equipped with an advanced flight deck from Universal Avionics were recently delivered to the Korea Coast Guard (KCG). Outfitted directly from the aircraft manufacturer, the flight deck features a 3-panel suite of large-format EFI-890R Flat Panel Displays, UNS-1Lw Multi-Mission Management System (MMMS), dual Vision-1 Synthetic Vision Systems and Terrain Awareness Warning System (TAWS). The Korea Coast Guard ordered a total of four CN-235 aircraft for maritime patrol operations, with the remaining two scheduled for delivery in August 2011.
The CN-235-110 MPA is built and outfitted at the state-owned PT Dirgantara Indonesia (formerly known as IPTN) in a maritime patrol configuration modified from the CN-235-110. It is equipped with advanced radar detection and thermal imaging systems and used primarily for VIP transport, maritime patrols, airlifts and troop carrying. Its short take-off and landing capabilities combined with multi-mission software from the Universal Avionics MMMS provides enhanced situational awareness to support specialized border patrol and surveillance platform missions conducted by KCG.
