Universal Avionics to Focus on OEMs with New Appointment

Tucson, AZ – September 12, 2008 – Universal Avionics Systems Corporation is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Clare as Director OEM Marketing. Robert is based in the company’s U.S. Midwest Office in Wichita, Kansas. In this newly defined position, Robert will apply over 15 years of experience in support and promotion of Universal’s products to Dealers and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in Wichita, expanding his scope to other airframe manufacturers in the industry.

This announcement demonstrates Universal’s continued dedication to promoting its products in the OEM market, which has seen an increase in competition over the past several years. “While our product line is well-suited for retrofit, we believe the technologies available to that market can be directly applied to OEMs as well,” said Dan Reida, Vice President of Marketing.

In his long tenure at Universal, Robert has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility and prominence. Most recently, as Manager of Central Region Marketing, he was responsible for the overall growth and development of Universal product sales across 11 Midwest states. He has worked closely with Wichita OEMs as the local primary Customer Service Representative over the last 12 years supporting Universal certification programs and assisting Engineering, Flight Test and Technical Sales support. Mr. Clare joined Universal Avionics in November 1993 with a degree in Engineering Technology from Wichita State University. He has worked in the Wichita Repair Station and Product Support, and as Midwest Regional Product Support Manager.
