Retirement of Charles H. Edmondson
 
 

Tucson, AZ – September 18, 2007 – Universal Avionics Systems Corporation announces the retirement of one of its founding members, Charles H. Edmondson.

Mr. Edmondson and the late Mr. Hubert L. Naimer founded the company in 1980 in Torrance, CA. In 1987, Mr. Edmondson was instrumental in moving the company’s operations to Tucson, beginning with 18 employees in a 10,000 square foot building near the Tucson International Airport. Over the years, the company grew to over $100 million in sales and employed over 600 employees in its several national and international facilities.

As Executive Vice President, Mr. Edmondson was responsible for all of the company’s worldwide operations. More recently, he served as Senior Corporate Vice President and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. He also served on the Board of Directors of General Aviation Manufacturers Association and was active with NBAA, AEA and other aviation organizations.

Mr. Edmondson began his aviation career in Douglas, Arizona in 1958.
