Universal Avionics introduced the world’s first Flight Management System to the market at the 1982 NBAA Annual Convention. The first of its kind certified, the Egocentric (pilot’s view) maintains standard PFD symbology overlaid on a 3-D computer generated rendering of the terrain ahead of the aircraft, displayed in real time and oriented to aircraft attitude as well as vertical and lateral position.
