Universal Avionics Celebrates 25 Year Anniversary at 2006 NBAA

Tucson, AZ – October 17, 2006 - Universal Avionics Systems Corporation marks its 25th anniversary as a leader in avionics development, design and manufacturing at the 2006 NBAA 59th Annual Convention and Trade Show in Orlando, Florida.

Universal Avionics introduced the world’s first Flight Management System to the market at the 1982 NBAA Annual Convention. More than 16,000 Flight Management Systems (FMS) have been sold around the world over the 25 years past and with many technological advances behind it, the Universal Avionics FMS continues to be the most advanced Flight Management System available today.

In addition to producing Flight management systems, Universal Avionics manufactures a complete line of flight deck avionics for the business class aircraft, commercial airliners and military markets.

`` Since 1981, we're proud to do our part to increase the safety of flight by developing equipment to modernize flight decks. The 59th NBAA show here in Orlando is the perfect place to celebrate our 25th year in the Aviation Community, amongst the people that helped us make it happen,'' said J.L.(Ted) Naimer, President and CEO of Universal Avionics.P>

More recently, Universal Avionics certified their Vision-1™ Synthetic Vision System. Certification in June 2006 of the Synthetic Vision for both FAR Part 23 & Part 25 aircraft launches the pilot into a new era of safety and situational awareness. This certification paves the way to update your existing flight deck with EFI-890R flat panel displays and the Synthetic Vision System, Vision-1. The first of its kind certified, the Egocentric (pilot’s view) maintains standard PFD symbology overlaid on a 3-D computer generated rendering of the terrain ahead of the aircraft, displayed in real time and oriented to aircraft attitude as well as vertical and lateral position.

Universal Avionics manufactures Super Flight Management Systems; the EFI-890R Flat Panel Display; Flat Panel Integrated Displays; Vision-1™ Synthetic Vision System; TAWS and Cockpit Voice Recorders. Universal Avionics occupies modern state-of-the-art facilities designed for research and development, manufacturing, and testing. Universal Avionics offers systems designed for the cockpit from the pilot’s perspective and products that meet or exceed emerging communications and navigation requirements.
