Pilatus PC-12 Receives EFI-890R FAA STC
 
 

Tucson, Arizona – July 31, 2006 – Universal Avionics announces that KCAC, (Kansas City Aviation Center), has received an FAA Supplemental Type Certification (STC) for the three display EFI-890R flat panel suite on a Pilatus PC-12. The EFI-890R displays is fully integrated with the existing avionics suite, offering these aircraft the advantage of advanced technology and display features such as, Synthetic Vision, Aeronautical Charts, Up-Linked Weather, TAWS, Video and a host of other applications. Kansas City Aviation Center in Olathe, Kansas will hold the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). KCAC will offer the Universal Avionics EFI-890R displays and numerous options as a standard part of their Pilatus retrofit program.

The architecture of the new system adds three LCD displays in the panel in a dual Primary Flight Display (PFD)/Single Navigation Display (ND) format, replacing the existing instrumentation.

“When we started this program we set some extremely aggressive schedules. The entire team rose to the occasion, and we are on schedule to begin a full book of installations for PC-12 owners who have followed our progress since we announced our joint effort with Universal Avionics. Installations are already underway in our KCAC facility, and will begin in the next 30 days at our new St. Louis facility, at Spirit of St. Louis Airport,” said Angelo Fiataruolo. President of Kansas City Aviation Center.
