Pilatus PC-12 To Get Universal Avionics EFI-890R Flat Panel Suite

Tucson, Arizona – February 14, 2006 – Universal Avionics and Kansas City Aviation Center, (KCAC) today announced a joint program to retrofit triple EFI-890R displays into the Pilatus PC-12s. The EFI-890R displays will be fully integrated with the existing avionics suite, offering these aircraft the advantage of advanced technology and display features such as, Synthetic Vision, Aeronautical Charts, Up-Linked Weather, TAWS, Video and a host of other applications.

The architecture of the new system adds three LCD displays in the panel in a dual Primary Flight Display (PFD)/Single Navigation Display (ND) format, replacing the existing instrumentation. The system interface engineering for the installation is in the final stage of completion and the first phase of the installation process has begun. Kansas City Aviation Center in Olathe, Kansas will hold the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the installation. Final flight testing will be completed in the second quarter of 2006.

“KCAC receives continued customer comments requesting flat panel display technology for their PC-12’s. We chose Universal Avionics 890Rs because of their flexibility, competitive cost and for the tremendous team behind the product”, said, Angelo Fiataruolo, President of Kansas City Aviation Center. KCAC plans to offer the Universal Avionics EFI-890R displays and numerous options as a standard part of the Pilatus retrofit program.
