Duncan Aviation Certifies Universal Avionics EFI-890R on Challenger CL-600
 
 

Tucson, Arizona –April 22, 2005 - Universal Avionics Systems Corporation announced today that Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, Nebraska successfully completed an FAA STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) for a four display suite of Universal Avionics EFI-890R Flat Panel Displays in a Challenger CL-600. This certification builds on Duncan’s successful installation of the EFI-890R’s in a Challenger CL-601-3A in August 2004.

The Duncan Aviation “Glass Box Project” for the Challenger 600/601 consists of, four EFI-890R 8.9 inch diagonal flat panel Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Displays, (AMLCD). This system displays Primary Flight Data, Navigation, Terrain Awareness, TCAS, AHARS, and Weather in addition to CNS/ATM. Universal Avionics Vision-1 synthetic vision system will be added to the STC as soon as TSO is received from the FAA.

As expected, the EFI-890R increases operational capability allows for upgrades to keep pace with regulatory and technological advances in avionics and decreases aircraft weight.”

The Universal Avionics EFI-890R is marketed for forward and retrofit applications. The EFI-890R has an 8.9-inch diagonal display for Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND) applications and supports existing analog and digital aircraft systems. The EFI-890R has superior sunlight readability and is available in 2-, 3- and 4-Unit suites with a 3-year product warranty.
