Tucson, AZ – Universal Avionics Systems Corporation (UASC) announces that its Radio Control Unit (RCU) received FAA TSO C-113 authorization on April 27, 2004. The RCU provides the pilot with a single easy to read display employing simple bezel mounted controls to operate VHF COM, VOR/ILS navigation, DME, ADF, ATC Transponder, and TCAS systems.
The RCU allows up to twelve pilot-settable preset frequencies for NAV, COM and ADF as well as rapid access to Com Frequency 121.50 and ATC code 7700. When interfaced to a Universal Avionics Systems Corporation Super FMS, the FMS will function as a back-up tuning source, as well as providing the RCU with up to six suggested frequencies. The RCU supports the Commercial Standards bus as well as the Aeronautical Radio, Incorporated (ARINC) Characteristic 429 interface standards.
