Universal Avionics FMS Family with LP/LPV Monitor

Since introducing the industry’s first multi-sensor Flight Management System (FMS) (the UNS-1) in 1982, Universal Avionics has continually taken the industry forward with a pilot-focused vision of flight management. Today’s Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)-capable FMSs build upon the company’s popular market-proven product design, offering more advanced features and interfaces, and a growth path to meet the requirements of the future.  Our Multi-Missions Management System (MMMS) incorporates the advanced technology, system design, features and capabilities included in our SBAS-enabled FMSs with special interfaces and the ability to fly six distinct patterns. Learn more about WAAS/SBAS-FMS and MMMS.

EFI-890H

EFI-890H

As the primary means of situational awareness for the aircraft crew, the EFI-890H Advanced Flight Display is classed as a Type I – Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Navigation Display (ND). It provides display of all primary flight information normally associated with standard ADI and HSI presentations as well as altitude, flight guidance and speed information. The EFI-890H has been qualified to the rigorous vibration profile testing of RTCA/DO-160F Environmental Standards for maximum performance during mission operations.  The MFD-890H incorporates this hardware in a single stand-alone Multi-Function Display configuration. Learn more about the EFI-890H.

MFD-640
MFD-640

The MFD-640 interfaces with a variety of Weather Radar, Terrain Awareness and Warning Systems (TAWS) and traffic avoidance systems, as well as onboard video, Vision-1® Synthetic Vision, Flight Management Systems (FMS), uplinked weather graphics and lightning detection systems. Its compact size and extensive interface capability makes it a versatile instrument for installation in a host of aircraft platforms, and adds valuable functionality for the operator. Learn more about the MFD-640.

Vision-1
Vision-1®

Enhancing pilot situational awareness, the Vision-1® Synthetic Vision System provides an advanced dynamic terrain image integrated with the flight plan and projected flight path of the aircraft. The “Egocentric” pilot’s view provides the pilot with a perspective as if looking out the flight deck window. The unique “Exocentric” wingman’s view provides a 3-D view of your aircraft with respect to the flight path and surrounding terrain. Learn more about the Vision-1®.

TAWS
TAWS

The Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) provides an exceptionally crisp and clear graphical depiction of actual terrain in three view formats (Map View, 3-D Perspective View and Profile View), on the Flight Management System (FMS) Control Display Units (CDU) or flight deck displays. Its unprecedented look-ahead capability provides warnings and alerts well in advance of potential hazards, allowing time for the pilot to make the necessary maneuvers or data corrections for terrain avoidance. Learn more about the TAWS.

ASU
ASU

Designed to the highest standard of Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) certification requirements, the Application Server Unit (ASU) is a full-featured system designed for display through the EFI-890R/890H Advanced Flight Display flight deck mounted system. The ASU supports procedural checklists, electronic documents (E-DOCS), Present Position (PPOS), broadcast weather graphics and external video. Learn more about the ASU.

UniLink
UniLink®

Developed in full compliance with DO-178B Level C guidelines and FANS 1/A+ standards, the UniLink® UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) accommodates the expansion of datalink services into more streamlined applications of airline and air traffic operations such as Controller Pilot Datalink Communications (CPDLC) and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B). Learn more about the UniLink®.

RCU
RCU

The Radio Control Unit (RCU) provides a centralized, easy-to-use control interface, with radio tuning and mode control function. Consolidating multiple radio control heads into a single, advanced controller provides savings in space and weight, while increasing efficiency and adding sophisticated radio tuning capabilities to the flight deck. Learn more about the ACU.

AHRS AHS-525
Attitude Heading Reference System

The AHS-525 Attitude Heading Reference System (AHRS) offers the superb reliability of Micro-Electromechanical System (MEMS) technology. The AHS-525 contains multiple rate gyros to measure angular aircraft motion in the pitch, roll and yaw axes and several accelerometers to measure aircraft linear motion along the longitudinal, lateral and vertical axes of the aircraft. Learn more about the AHRS.

CVR/FDR
Recorders

With five model options, the Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR) offer an independent as well as a combination CVR/FDR recording capability. The CVR/FDR’s unique Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS) option provides a backup power source in the event of a main power failure and allows the aircraft to meet the FAA’s latest RIPS requirement without the additional size, weight and complexity of an external RIPS unit. Weighing less than 9 lbs., the lightweight and compact CVR/FDR is the most advanced and convenient recorder available today. Learn more about our recorders.
