Jazz Pilots See Benefits of New On-Site Training Facility
New Classroom, Set Up and Facilitated by Universal Avionics, Provides Optimal Learning Environment
Tucson, AZ – May 11, 2015 – Universal Avionics is continuing to build onto its long-time relationship with Jazz Aviation through dedicated support services. Most recently, the Universal Avionics Support team was on-site at Jazz's Mississauga, Ontario, Canada training facility to assist with classroom setup of Flight Management System (FMS) computer-based training and instructor preparation. Now, with a full classroom similar to the ones found in Universal Avionics' Main Support and Midwest Support Centers, Jazz's classroom is all set to be used for new hire and recurrent training courses.
"We were really fortunate to be able to help Jazz set up their FMS training classroom environment," said Norm Matheis, Universal Avionics Regional Sales Manager for Canada. "It's in our interest, as well as Jazz's large pilot group, to be self-sufficient and have access to high-fidelity operational training," he added. "This demonstrates the commitment to our long-standing relationship with Jazz. Supporting our customers is the utmost priority, and we're delighted to have worked with Jazz on this project."
"This new setup allows the pilots to be immersed in a scenario-based program whereby they are expected to program and manipulate the FMS in order to achieve the aim of a given exercise," said Tom Castaldo, Jazz's Flight Training Program Manager — DH8/Q400. "We firmly believe that this FMS Trainer (FMST) is a superior training product and complements our DH8 and Q400 training programs," he added. "We are enormously grateful that Universal Avionics went above and beyond to assist us with the initial setup. This highlights the strong relationship between Jazz and Universal Avionics, and we look forward to future initiatives."
