According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), "there are now twice as many WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) procedures (LPVs and LPs) as there are ILS glide slopes in the U.S. National Airspace."

As of October 12, 2017:

  • 3,863 published Localizer Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) approaches
  • Serving 1,884 airports
  • 1,121 of these airports are non-Instrument Landing System (ILS) airports
  • FAA is adding more new WAAS procedures each year
