Universal Avionics' Statement on COVID-19

Message from our CEO, Dror Yahav: 

In light of our current environment, I would like to share the steps we are taking at Universal Avionics in response to the developing COVID-19 situation.

There is no higher priority than the health and well-being of our employees and the interests of our customers, dealers / integrators, and partners. As we continue to closely monitor COVID-19, we are implementing a series of measures to ensure our products are delivered and supported through the outbreak in the safest way possible, as outlined below.

  • We are diligently following guidance and best practices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) for increased cleaning and reduction of prolonged contact between large groups of people.
  • We have authorized all employees who are able to work from home to do so. To better support this effort, we have accelerated the implementation of an ongoing infrastructure project to equip and train all administrative, sales, and support employees with a secure, cloud-based platform which will allow them to work remotely as effectively as they would in the office.
  • Functional areas which cannot be supported remotely, such as manufacturing, shipping, and repair,  have implemented multiple non-overlapping work shifts.
  • All facilities have increased daily cleaning routines which promote frequent hand-washing, provide access to hand sanitizer, and includes thorough cleaning of equipment.
  • We have restricted all non-essential employee travel, and virtual conferencing is encouraged to maintain business continuity. 
  • Manufacturing, repair, customer support, and database services remain open, operating at normal capacity. 
  • We are increasing product inventory in the short term to mitigate potential impacts from our supply chain. To date, no specific disruptions of our upstream supply chain (incoming goods from suppliers) have been recorded. Shipments to our customers have not been affected at this time.

The situation remains fluid however, and if we are informed of any delays we will pass that information along to our customers as soon as possible.
