Aeronautical Data Process Certification Engineer

Summary:  Responsible for coordinating, creating, assembling and submitting process documentation sufficient to satisfy an FAA audit to obtain an FAA Type 2 Letters of Acceptance (LOA) for several databases under RTCA/DO-200A, Standards for Processing Aeronautical Data and FAA Advisory Circular 20-153A, Acceptance of Data Processes and Associated Navigation Databases.  This includes developing and maintaining the data quality, data processing and tool qualification documentation; and pulling these together with configuration management, quality management and compliance plans that fit the various database needs.  Exercises a wide degree of creativity and latitude to analyze and solve problems.
                                                                                          
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Responsible for capturing, developing, and formally documenting the requirements, processes, and quality management procedures for multiple aeronautical databases with multiple suppliers. 
  • Responsible for creating, assembling and submitting documentation sufficient to satisfy an FAA audit to obtain an FAA Type 2 Letters of Acceptance (LOA) for each database under RTCA/DO-200A, Standards for Processing Aeronautical Data and FAA Advisory Circular 20-153A, Acceptance of Data Processes and Associated Navigation Databases
  • Responsible for maintaining and submitting documentation and quality management procedures to sustain eligibility for an FAA Type 2 LOA for each database.

Education/Experience:

BS in Engineering or Technological Discipline with 3 year's experience

Language Ability:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.  Ability to present ideas and concepts clearly and effectively to all levels of the company

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability:

Methodical and analytical approach and be capable of initiating and leading change.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in desktop software applications such as MS Office
