Software Certification Engineer, Level 2



Summary:

The Level 2 Certification Engineer is an integral part of the product development team performing software verification activities in support of product certification and TSO approval.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Software Verification Cases and Procedures documents (SVCP) using Software Requirements Data (SRD).
  • Develop test scripts as required to support Software Verification Cases and Procedures.
  • Provide Software Change Impact Analysis input for associated certification tasks.
  • Complete assigned tasks within allocated time.
  • Provide guidance to and train less experienced personnel.
  • Perform Requirements traceability analysis.
  • Perform software version differences comparison.
  • Perform structural coverage analysis and testing.
  • Maintain current certification status in Problem Report database.
  • Set up and tear down test setups in SW Certification Lab.

Competency:

Basic understanding of C and C++ programming practices and process and control driven development and certification work environment. Ability to comprehend avionics system level LRU communications/interactions (data transfer).

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science/related field and 5 years of experience or an equivalent 5 years of systems/test engineering related work experience.
Experience: Previous test or systems engineering experience is required.
Language Ability: Fluent in English.
Math Ability: Advanced mathematics, geometry, and algebra.
Reasoning Ability: Able to independently make sound judgments.
Computer Skills: MS Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook).

Work Environment:

Certification Test Laboratory.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and or carry up to 25 lbs.
