Sr. Test Technician
The Sr. Test Technician performs a wide variety of complex technical tasks related to the development of new products and test equipment. Typically, these tasks are performed with independence and very little supervision.
The Sr. Test Technician is generally responsible for R&D type projects and provides coworkers with technical advice and guidance.
Qualifications:
- Expertise in the design of analog and digital circuits for test
- Expertise in the fabrication and assembly of custom test equipment by utilizing standard shop equipment and techniques
- Ability to analyze requirements and specifications in order to evaluate test equipment needs
- Ability to work with internal and external customers to resolve test problems
- Detailed knowledge and experience with standard avionics test and qualification requirements, including knowledge of EMI screen room equipment and theory, as well as EMI suppression techniques
- 2 year degree in electronics technology or equivalent (including applicable military training)
- 10 years minimum combined field and lab experience in avionics (or similar) industry.
Summary:.
- Design, fabricate, build and deploy test equipment in support of development, qualification and production activities
- Provide sustaining support for fielded test equipment
- Maintain and supervise the use of the EMI screen room and associated equipment
- Provide all staff with advice and recommendations based on the breadth and depth of knowledge attained through years of experience.
- Provide technical advice and guidance to other test technicians
- Assist in the development of standards for development, fabrication and documentation of test equipment.
- Assist in preparation and execution of Environmental and EMI Qualification, including occasional travel to oversee formal testing.
- Other tasks may include maintaining and ensuring calibration of all calibrated equipment, overseeing repair of test equipment and facility equipment associated with the test of development hardware, occasional stocking of part bins, cleaning up and maintaining of a professional test lab environment.
